Let’s forget about landing page design and how you should lay out your landing pages. These are where you optimize and get minimal 1-3% higher conversion rates from assuming you aren’t retarded and designing your landing pages like some drugged up crack addict. Keep the design linear, your headline and at least one call to action above the fold, and you should be alright for a base.
Where you really kill it or not is all up to the copy on your landing page. If you don’t know how to write to the demographics you are targeting, you’re gonna go broke. If you use the wrong grammar, or look like a salesman, you’re gonna go broke. If you act like a scientist, and try to be as detailed and in depth as possible, you’re going to go broke.
Know who you are writing for. If you are targeting 25 year old moms, write like a 25 year old mother. Check out popular websites viewed by young mothers and imitate the writing style. If you are targeting hip-hop fans, make sure you use a lot of shit, fuckin’, gawd damn, and all those other words you’d rather your mom not hear you say. Spell a lot of words incorrectly, abbreviations, etc. Immitate to get the lead. It’s all about the research to get into the right state of mind.
If you come off like a doctor saying “This acai berry product has the highest amount of Potassium extract D out of any other products.” I made that up, but pretend it made sense. Do you really care what the hell Potassium extract D is? Nope. You want to know what the hell it’s gonna do for you. “This acai product is made up of organic shit that will make you skinny in 4 weeks. People will love the new you. You’ll gain confidence within 1 day! You will make 100s of new friends. You will be the hottest mom on the block. You will pwn noobs!” Skip the scientific crap and tell them what the offer will do for them. I believe Shoemoney told this as “list the benefits” of using the product, not what the product is.
And it’s using these simple steps that have made me $1000+ days. It works on search, Facebook, media buys, and even tiny PPV landing pages (I can actually get conversions on 30-40 dollar payout rebill offers by targeting correctly and simply listing the benefits in a well designed landing page). After you can nail these down, you can move onto other optimization like split testing benefits and your designs.
And for those in need of some landing pages or creatives, don’t forget to visit my affiliate store and buy some. They are sexy, and at only $5 a pop, you can’t go wrong!
Justin, could you teach us some basics of using Photoshop and Dreamweaver ? I suck big time at these 2 programs… sure, I could outsource but sometimes, I need quick changes to be made and it's a real bummer I'd have to pay to have those small changes made…
I don't really use them all that often, except for minor editing. There are plenty of tutorials out there for you to check out FREE on the web. Google is your best friend.
Absolutely – Youtube has 3420 videos out there for "dreamweaver tutorial" and 155,000 for "Photoshop tutorials".
http://www.Lynda.com is also a great resource, I learned a lot of stuff from Lynda. If you google Lynda Coupons, or Lynda Free Trial you should be able to find a 1 or 2 day trial that gives you full access to everything. Watch, and learn QUICK!
Otherwise, there's plenty of Photoshop tutorial websites that have lots of quality tutorials.
