I spent hours on the phone with Ally and emailed senior executives. Eventually, the problem was corrected to where I can access the account. The bottom line is: 1. Ally does not have the automation systems in place to function as a bank 2. Ally isn't a bank at all in the since you cannot go to an Ally location and withdraw your money (I was prepared to fly there to get my money) 3. Ally continues to advertise falsely regarding their customer service. 4. Ally will not compensate you for any losses that are their fault. You are on your own, baby. Now to the point of the post. It sounds like banks are the same all over the world! :( They are businesses making money, just like most other businesses. I actually think people forget that and for some reason think banks are above normal business.

I recently read "The conspiracy of the Rich' by Robert Kyosaki. It certainly put the business of banking into perspective.

We all should be shopping around for the best value for our money no matter where we live.
