Dating is a popular niche for affiliate marketers. It’s a strong performer throughout the year, and is relatively easy to convert. Here is one question regarding dating I received from Ask Away Round 2:

“Any tips for dating campaigns? Especially for targeting women. I?ve used your 700+ photos of women for dating campaigns but i?m having a difficulty finding good pictures for targeting females, but maybe it?s not the picture? no idea?”

My theory is if you think you’ve split tested enough, chances are you probably haven’t. I’ve had female dating campaigns that worked, it just took a little while to find the right combination of text and images to get it to convert.

First off, the text. Men just want an easy lay, most of the time. So you’ll say how easy it is to pick up hot girls on this site, blah blah. However, women are looking for something more “honest” and “trustworthy” (*hint hint*). Women are attached to their emotions, much more than men at least. Make sure that shows in the ad copy.

Images – Well, obviously, you shouldn’t be using my 700 big busted women images to target women. I’ve found images of men that look like real people you’d meet on a daily basis convert the best and gain the top EPCs. Models generally don’t get women to convert, believe it or not. Women that join dating sites are very desperate, and already know they won’t be marrying a supermodel anytime, so they want to meet men that are “down to their level”.

Offer/Landing page – Most dating site LPs feature a collection of female images. Try and find an offer targeted to women, or build a landing page tailor made for them. Use pictures of normal looking men. Use emotional ad copy, and split test everything! Layout, copy, images, offers. Always keep rotating! To help with the task of constant split testing, I’d use the FB Ad Manager. It will take your campaigns to new levels!

So, I hope this helps you get started in the female dating niche. It really isn’t difficult to tap in to, but it just takes a little split testing.
