A Bad Day

A Bad Day

Ever just have one of those days where nothing goes right for you. It sucks, especially when it comes to your internet marketing campaigns. Today was one such day. I expected it, as Mondays and Sundays have typically been the least profitable for me. I suppose with Father’s Day on Sunday, that made things ten times worse, because every campaign I had turned on today had conversion rates less than half of normal. Some of these I’ve had running for a few months.

All I can really do is ask my affiliate managers if there were some problems with the offers, if conversion rates were down across the network, or if this is ussually expected on most holidays. In some cases, it could be any one of these, or it coulda just been my unlucky day. If it continues for a few more days like this, I’ll know it has been a problem on the network rather than anything else.

Anyone else see bad things happen to their campaigns the past couple days?

Anyways, the Tatto Media contest is finally starting to pick up some steam. Nearly $100 has been generated by 24 affiliates now on board. That still isn’t enough money, though. I’ve decided that to make this worth while, we need to hit atleast $500 in commissions before we give out the prize. I already gave out a suggestion on what offers to run and how to run them, you just need to go out and try it!

What?! You can’t just come in and change the rules because it isn’t making you enough money! Sure, it sucks that more aren’t taking part but that doesn’t mean you can extend it like that. Especially since you didn’t stipulate that in the original contest post. Not only is that completely lame it’s illegal ;) .

You went from being cool for having a fun little contest with some decent prizes to a schmuck just trying to use it to make as much cash for as long as you can.

Either get off your ass and promote the contest or live with it. Then next time you will know that it can take a little more than just posting a contest for it to be successful.

Sucks about your bad day/weekend though :( . But don’t let that turn you into one of those lame marketers (like tyler cruz) that only have contest for the referral earnings…well, sure, that is a major reason to have one but don’t be such an obvious ass about it.

If you think I’m doing it for the affiliate referral commission… lets take a look at Tatto’s referral commission scheme.

I get 1% of what each of my referrals get paid.

Right now, my referrals have done about 89 dollars in commissions.

That gives me a whopping $0.89!!!

At $500, I get $5! Wow! I can afford lunch now.

Trust me, I’m not doing this to collect your 1%, I’m doing this to get affiliates active. The affiliate that does the most by June 31st (if we reach $500), will have the most chances to win. Do a little work, and get a little something extra out of it. I’ve posted a couple campaigns that have already proven to be easily profitable from my own marketing experience.

I don’t need the 1%, and I believe I said before I would give the winner the 1% ref. commissions I earned from it, too! Instead of crying about it, why don’t you go out, pick out one of those offers, put it up on Facebook and make the other $411 needed to hit that $500 limit?

This contest was started to help other new affiliates get a small push into advertising online and giving them a kick-ass prize for taking those first few steps.

And if anyone is still to afraid to just dip in, I have a contact page. It’s there for a reason. I can help you with suggestions on your LPs, ads, what offers to run, where to run them.

We’ve still got 1 more week to go, and one affiliate did a majority of that $90 in commission yesterday. If that one keeps it up, and starts pushing more traffic after optimizing the limit should be hit anyways.

I don’t like the idea of changing the rules either but can understand it. I don’t know if it is illegal but isn’t very fair.

But I’m one of those ones who signed up and still trying to figure out how to earn some money to increase my chances.

I’m also on a pretty tight budget (otherwise I’d just buy a netbook heheh) but trying to figure out ways to get some traffic moving anyway. I personally appreciate your couple post with campaign ideas and doing some research to get some going if I can.

Though with my luck, I’ll blow my budget, lose more money than the prizes are even worth and then just go back into hiding ashamed and broke lol.

Regardless, thanks again for having the contest and helping out with the tips!

The Tatto Media contest is nice and the Facebook tip was cool. I am a little busy with some other stuff or I would jump on in.

For those on a budget, remember, not all your traffic has to have a cost!

I use to make $500+ a day with Craigslist posting (most CPA networks don’t like this, though. I’m sure Tatto Media is the same).

Yahoo Answers, Digg, Stumble, Reddit, Facebook, Myspace, Hi5, basic SEO – These can all give you some traffic to CPA offers within a matter of hours!

I just use PPC because it is fast and easy money, now!

I’m sure the holiday didn’t help- I know I wasn’t home on my computer! I suggest checking in with your publisher manager. Most likely it was just a slow day (it happens)- maybe you can try pushing some offers specific to the holiday next time. I know a few affiliates who add some Valentines, Christmas, etc. offers into their rotation and do pretty well. Why not Father’s day too?

  6. I like your blog, but this is a shitty thing to do man. I just got contacted today to get my account running. I will try to make enough in a week but I do not even know the offers i can run.

Can’t you just extend the deadline if the $500 has not been reached?

I guess people think I’m going to drop the contest completely.

What I meant was extending it until $500 was met >.<.

So yes, someone WILL WIN the prize. It just might take a little longer!

BTW – Up to $139 so far.

  9. That is exactly what I was proposing.

I got a warning from facebook in my mail box:

“The creation of further ads for these prohibited products may result in your account being disabled.”…

Do you know how serious I should take this warning?
I am not even cloaking, but just submitting “Subscription Services” that they don’t but also approve if I am lucky.

I get this all the time. Sometimes they will ban accounts if you are doing this too often (submitting and resubmitting 100+ ads over and over again).

I’d suggest cloaking or sending to a landing page first to get the ads through.
