The year ends, here, in about 13 hours. So I thought I’d go back and take a look at my old goals I set for my self. God damn where they ever pretty ridiculous.
1. Profit $15,000 a month, consistently – I’m pretty sure I hit this a few times this year, but I could never keep it up. I know why, too. Because I just got too lazy. I’d hit the F5 key on my stats all day long and just laugh at the money I was making rather than actually do anything to help my business in the following month. That was pretty foolish. Always be working, no matter what! Even if you just did 100Gs in one day, who’s to say you’ll repeat your success the next day? Who’s to say you won’t get sued and lose it all tomorrow? Work hard, and work smart.
2. Get a 6-Pack – Now this one I actually had for about a month. Things were going great! I then decided to fly to Japan when shit hit the fan in Thailand with the red shirt. My first 2 days there were awesome. It’s an amazingly beautiful country. It is also very cold. The temperature change from 100F to about 40-50 in Japan killed my body. I layed sick in bed for 2 weeks. When I got back to Thailand, I took time to recover the 10 or so pounds I lost (including a lot of my muscle). Just when things were looking up… BAM! Swine flu. I contracted it and was recovering for another 2 weeks. After that, I just said screw it, and started working harder on monies.
3. Become famous in Thailand – This was a joke of a goal. I figured it would be my way of gaining social acceptance. I had it all along anyways. I’d ditch my friends to hang out with the upper class, and I even started modeling. I realized I was doomed for failure when I went to some castings for commercials, and bombed the acting. I just couldn’t do it. Fame just isn’t in my fortune, and honestly, I don’t really care for it anymore.
Next year will be a true year of change. I plan to work harder, make more monies, and make myself better known to the affiliate world like I should have done this last year. I still can’t believe I watched some of my friends that came to me for advice go from losing hundreds a day, to making 10s of thousands a day (maybe even more), buying Rolexs and Ferraris, and traveling around the world. Honestly, that should have been me! That will be me this year!

My goals for the year included working harder also and putting back online some dead blogs.
Also making websites to market products with help this time.
PHP,Datafeeds etc…. is a pain….
Goodluck for 2010… Keep up the good work Justin.
Whew – hear you on that. I went into 2009 with some nebulous goals & came out of it with just that. Best business idea I ever had fell flat on its back when my G account got blasted (due to running a bizopp for 3 days on a lark when I never do rebills). Learned some lessons about putting all my eggs in one basket because I put all my time & effort into killing microniches on Google – just wasn't able to pull it off after that using other traffic sources.
Shooting for more of a year of maturity in my business for 2010 – less opportunity-seeking, more business-building. Upside is I don't have to worry about Google's screwy rules (yeah, I know I could sneak back in, but thinking like that is got me where I was in 2009). Live & learn – many things to be thankful for. Hot wife, healthy kids, recession-proof job when we work for ourselves.
Great blogging from you this year & wish you all the best this new year.
lol, sounds like you got a major case of ADD like myself, I can't sit and work for more than 5 minutes at a time, no joke! I need to get me some Adderall…
Hi mate!
Good post and seems this is your first year in Aff marketing? If so, that's great that you're ahead of lots of "opportunity-seekers" who spend hours online and not even make 1000$ a month )
I've got a lot of failures last year, it was one of the worst years in my whole life, in terms of health and business. But what's not killin' us makes us stronger, so this year is a chance to use the lessons to your advantage.
Good luck to all us – let's rock and make some good $$$ this year :)
