So we already know what PPV/CPV advertising is. But what affiliate offers are there to push? The answer? Any offer that allows contextual traffic!

First off, you’ll need to sign up to some networks to push some traffic to. Here is a list of what I use along with some shiny affiliate links you should use to make me monies plz k thx:

I’ve ran traffic to lead gens, email/zip submits, rebills, and even CPS offers and had some success with all of them. The key to any campaign is know how to promote it and what your basic niche/demographic is that you’ll be targeting. That’s what we’ll talk about here, then.

Lead Gens/Email/Zip Submits

These are your easiest PPV offers to push. Email and zip submits are self-explanatory. They are normally very easy to target. However, I suggest staying far away from these types of offers. Advertisers generally like to scrub and shave away at your balls, running out the profitability in a couple days. Plus, $1.30 on a lead generated isn’t anything to brag about.

For you noobs out there, a lead gen is like generating a sign up to a website or newsletter. The biggest niche for this is probably dating; biz-opp lead gens are very popular now, as well. Financial offers are big, auto/health insurance, etc, etc. The shorter the lead form, the better/easier they are to convert. Sometimes these can be direct linked and sometimes they need a landing page to sell them. I’ll talk about this in a later post.

Rebill Offers

These things have been ruining credit scores for years now (Credit checking services – just one of the rebill offers you can choose to promote). Rebills pay our big money – anywhere from 30 – 50 dollars. That comes with a price though. They are more difficult to get converting traffic for, more expensive to test, and not very noob friendly for the PPV amateur. That being said, it can be profitable.

You’ll see guys running fake blogs and articles to these type of offers, however, the FTC is cracking down on that, so you always need to be careful if you plan on taking that route. I’ve had a few good runs with single page 750×550 pixel landing pages that go to the offer. You can also try banners with these, too.

Sale Offers

Believe it or not, you can sell shit via PPV. I couldn’t believe it either when I threw up my first CPS PPV campaign and had a sale within 15 minutes. Here, it is all down to your landing/offer page and your targeting. A hint – target people that are already shopping (easy to do… just target e-commerce sites!). These are harder to sell than a rebill, because there is no free trial, but it is possible to run a profitable campaign with it. I’m proof!

Always Remember

You need to always check the terms of the affiliate offer you are going to run. Do not run offers that don’t allow PPV/Contextual/Pop-up traffic. You’ll screw yourself if you get caught doing it or even accidentally running offers that you aren’t allowed to.

That’ll do it for now. I’d talk more, but I need to save some info here for later posts. Stick around, subscribe, whatever to get more updates!

“the FTC is cracking down on that”

Nothing has changed. No one has been fined.

Nice guides so far. Looking forward to you telling us how to target. That seems to be where I fail. I ran a dating offer targeting dating personal sites and couldn’t get any leads.

  5. I’m not nearly as knowledgeable with PPV as Justin but perhaps I can offer some insight. I mean sure maybe your dating offer was not converting very well but the problem I see in that situation is that they are already on a dating site and have already found the “solution” to their problem. I would think that targeting other niches where you think people are lonely or have trouble finding/meeting girls would be better. Good luck!

If you’re doing CPS aff progs, you might want to tag a bonus in the pop, together with your aff link.

Eg: popping over a dummies book and giving an extra workbook that compliments the product will lift conversions 20% easily.

If you’re doing something in the bestsellers list and your bonus is pretty sweet, the campaign can have long legs for a long time to come.

Justin and anyone else interested, I have a URL scraper that I am letting a limited number of people beta test. I’ve been using it for some time in my contextual marketing and I am trying to polish up before I release it to the public. Right now it will let you scrape up to 500 URLs based on the search terms entered and export them to a CSV. It will also display Compete.com rankings and traffic estimates for each of the URLs. Lastly it will allow you to “explode” the initial search by running all of the URLs through Quantcast and finding even more related sites. Contact me on my contact page if you would like to beta test the software and willing to give feedback.
