I Think I Need an Accountant

I just got back from my first day at my new university. Last year, I studied at a tiny school with 200 people total (teachers and students). I hated it, and the only reason I studied there was because I knew I wanted to be in Thailand for college, but I didn’t have enough money to pay for it on my own. The small school is Webster University, an American school, which I could get a loan for (Thai colleges aren’t approved for student loans in America). Well, when I discovered I could make money online with freelancing and affiliate marketing, I had a good stream of income and could pay for tuition at a school in Bangkok.

I moved to Bangkok and now study at Bangkok University International College. I walked through the doors to my first course, accounting, and found 159 other students in the room. Huge class sizes! Awesome :p. However, I was kind of dumbfounded when I looked at the material. Now I’ve got some book keeping and T-section assignments that just make my head feel like a scrambled egg.

When I think about the work I do, the money I spend, and the tax I will have to pay on this money I’m making, I’m thinking it will be a good subject to at least have basic knowledge in. At least I now have enough knowledge to know I will need an accountant to do this for me. And I hear they actually don’t cost that much. In fact, they might end up saving you thousands of dollars a year. Some do it for a small slice of the money they save you, and that sounds alright to me considering the facts.

So if anyone knows some good accountants they could plug to me, that could work with me via email/IM, please get in touch with me. That would be awesome.

I’m checking my stats today to see how much money I made while I was at school. I think I did pretty damn well more than doubling my investment.

Color Speaks for Your Ads

I remember when I was in my design production course, we watched the movie “Hero.” If you haven’t seen it yet, I suggest you do and you study it. This film is a great one from many perspectives. The storytelling is amazing, the action is stunning, and the colors… the colors speak for themselves throughout the film. My professor for the course actually spent a great deal of time disecting the film and writing a multiple page dissertation about the use of color in Hero.

What color does is exude feeling and emotion. Many of these feelings trigger what we affiliate marketers like to see… leads and sales. If you plan on becoming a great marketer, you’ve got to understand how to get people to buy things as efficiently as possible, taking into use words, design, and color to put people into buying moods.

Let’s do a quick run down of colors and what the say. Info is from Goodell Group.

Blue
Here is the all-time color favorite for most folks, especially men. It’s a cool color that is extremely versatile going from the darker side of midnight blue to the lighter of baby blue—all of which inspire us in so many different directions.

Blue is a very trustworthy color, which is why so many companies use it for every part of design. It is also a very well founded base color. Think about the sky and sea when you see this color, and imagine how vast they are.

Yellow
Along with red, this color raises our blood pressure a bit and catches our eye. Yellow embodies life, joy and offers a high-impact visual. It adds brightness to our lives.

There is a reason smilies are yellow. That shit makes you happy. In Asia, yellow is a color associated with royalty, riches, and success.

Red
This color is the attention grabber. It is considered the hottest color with the highest impact for attention and action. It has a strong masculine appeal.

Red makes people want to buy shit. When you go in a department or grocery store, what do you see? A bunch of big-ass red signs that say SALE! BUY ME! SAVE .30 CENTS WHEN YOU BUY 50! It is ridiculous, but it works.

Green
This color leads the pack for symbolizing a healthy lifestyle.  Green is often used with health food products, recycling, vegetables and even mentholated tobacco products (to emphasize freshness??).

Green is naturally associated with nature… naturally. If you are pushing health junk, slap some green on it and some hippies are sure to buy in.

Brown
Although considered a masculine color, it does have a strong appeal to women as well. Symbolizes home and hearth.

Some feel the color is a bit dirty, too. Rust, shit, dirt… it is all brown. It depends on what tone and message you want to use it for, but brown can work for or against you.

Black
Black is the embodiment of sophistication, gives an expensive message. It also lends itself wonderfully as a background color to accentuate other colors, such as: yellow, red and orange.

A very strong base color that pops out of white space. Don’t overuse it as it may send out the wrong message. Dark dankness ussually doesn’t sell unless you are pushing.. i dunno… how to go to hell ebooks. NEW NICHE!

Orange
This is the color of harvest, the “feast” color, and it evokes strong emotions regarding holidays, home, eating.

Thanksgiving, turkey, orange juice, and a lotta other good foods are orange. Orange is prominent in Asia alongside red and yellow as a holy color. Bright oranges can catch attention easily. Its like the best parts of red and yellow combined… hmm…

So, learn your colors, split test your ads and landing pages with them, and see some mutha farking profit, yo! I’ve got an experiment with color I’m working on, so when I get it all fired up, I’ll let you know my results.

eHarmony Dating Ad Tips

Just got this from my affiliate manager, Michelle, at NeverblueAds. I just wanted to share some of you new to the niche if you aren’t already gotten into it.

eHarmony typically sees July through September as their peak season when they see the highest spike in user registrations. We here at Neverblue have seen a similar trend and our eHarmony numbers have been steadily rising all summer (18% Growth over last quarter). I just wanted to send out a reminder that you have been approved to run one or more of the eHarmony offers and that you may want to divert some additional resources to this campaign to take advantage of this peak season. Here is some data straight form eHarmony that may help you in your targeting.

Groups most likely to generate a lead:

  • Females 21- 30
  • Males 35+
  • Higher Education
  • Higher Salary
  • Also target divorcees, single parents, Christian demographics and mature Asians.

For US Traffic: States Most Likely to Convert: Colorado, Minnesota, Arizona, California, Washington, Wisconsin, Texas, New York, Illinois, Florida, Pennsylvania

Some excellent tips in there that I think you should know about when it comes to pushing dating. If you need any help pushing a specific campaign, sign up under one of my affiliate links, let me know about it, and I’ll help you do whatever I can about it. You can contact me by shooting me an email.

Unlimited Monies to Fuel That Campaign

People seem to run into a lot of problems, monetarily, when running huge campaigns and expanding on successful ones. One thing you don’t want to do is stop campaigns that are successful. Many people think this is the only thing they can do when they run out of money, which is absolutely ridiculous and stupid. There are plenty of sources for extra cash when you need it and I suggest you use them

Use your damn coupons. Facebook has $200 in coupons that you can use. Hop on different proxies, make a shit load of accounts and use those coupons on each one of them. Infinite free money. Just be careful. Facebook will ban you if you don’t anonymize yourself enough. Adwords, Yahoo Publisher and MSN Adcenter all have coupons that you can use over and over and over again, too. Use them. Even if you don’t break even, you can normally make some kind of profit.

I’m too lazy to create multiple accounts, and it is too risky. If one account with your credit cards gets banned, you can never use that card again on facebook. I don’t have 250 dollars a day in my bank account to keep my advertising up, so I turn to my sexy Plum Card from AmEx. I’ve got no limit on it, and if I pay the fees back within 10 days of the closing date I can get 2% cash back. Talk about sexy bitches! For every $1000 I spend, I make 20 bucks, which may seem insignificant, but if I spend 15k in one month, I make back enough to pay my monthly rent (I live in Thailand, cheap rent but a great apartment I have),

Get a loan. If you can’t get approved for the Plum Card, you must have shit for a credit score. I got mine after owning another AmEx card for only 2 months, and I am only 20 mind you. If you know your campaign will score you big bucks, go out and get loan. Get s secured loan if you can’t just get one from your bank. These are also excellent ways to build up your credit score if you can pay them back.

Another way to get some cash, is to let some other noob pay for your expenses. Offer them a percentage of your profit and things should be all honkee-doree. This one required good negotiation. The investor needs to get enough money to feel an impact on his investment, and you need enough to make a good return on your ads.

Thats 4 ways to get cash, and just some of the ways. There are tones of other ways I can think that you can get some money. Sell shit and then buy it back later when you are rollin in the dough. Go raise some funds via another source (I still do some freelance writing that pays nearly instantly once the work is complete). Go to the street corner and beg/work at McDonalds.

Okay, you’ve got no reason to put that campaign on pause now, so get out there and start makin G’s yo!

Dating Ads You Should Be Running

Dating ads do pretty well on Facebook, and some do better than others. These aren’t just successful ads in FB, but they do pretty well in SEM, too. So sign up with my affiliate links, start running these ads, make money, and if you need any help, feel free to contact me.

Neverblue Ads

Neverblue Ads has the best tracking and is by far the best in terms of layout and ease of use. Their affiliate managers are extremely helpful, as well. If you are working with them for dating ads, check out their eHarmony campaigns. They pay out highest of all networks I’m on at $4.25 a pop. The landing page is decent and converts fairly well if you can target the right demographics and pass some pictures of well-endowed women up.

Ads 4 Dough

I love Ads 4 Dough. The owner, Smaxor, is a blackhat SEO and super affiliate. While that might scream “STAY AWAY!! DO NOT TRUST!!” either the guy is good at playin’ everyone else, or he’s one of the best “affiliate managers” ever. What you are going to want to hit up on A4D is VIP Singles. At 7 dollars a head, this one can bring in some big bucks. However, I’ve found it really difficult to convert. It is a 3-4 page submission that only accepts people 30 years old and up and those that make more than 35K a year. Once again, targeting your demographics is important here. Make sure you split test demographics, images, headlines and ad copy.

Rocket Profit

Rocket Profit is a well layed out affiliate site and they’ve performed very well with me. Actually, I’ve made the most amount of money with them. Take a look at their Singles.net landing page. It actually converts like pie, and at $4.00 a lead, you’ll pull off some high ROI numbers. Push a lot of traffic their way and you should see some results. Also, I haven’t tested these out, but they have eHarmony specialized pages for Asians, Jews, Blacks and others that I bet would make you a shit load of money. Those convert at $4.00 a head.

Advaliant

Advaliant is a well put together company. They run a bunch of competitions for those that can make a lot of money, and you could end up winning TVs, computers, and other goodies. They’ve got a few dating ads that do well ranging from 3 to $4.50 a lead. They’ve also got some dating books and how to hit on chicks products with some high payouts ($40). Advaliant is a winner.

So, no matter how you do it, get out there and start pushing some ads on Facebook, MSN, Yahoo, or Google. Some of these might even work well on a static site or blog. Dating ads convert well, and it all depends on how much you are using for a click which well determine your ROI. I’ve priced clicks to high, even by just 10 cents, which have overall lost me money rather than make me a couple hundred dollars a day.

And remember, if you sign up under my referral links, I’ll help you out in anyway needed (minus giving you money to start your campaign… lol).
