I finally got that new employee I wanted hired, and he’ll be starting up work with me on Monday. That meant I had to buy a new computer and all that junk for him to work with. While what I have is just a temporary solution, as the table isn’t all that ergonomically good for work, this is what I came up with.

I really hope this new home office set up will help me become more productive, as honestly, I’ve been slacking off a lot. With the addition of an employee coming in, that means I’ll have to work, otherwise I’d look like a jackass if I let him watch me play PS3 all day.
One of the additions to my place, as you can see, is a new ergonomic chair very similar to that of Herman Miller but without the $1,000 price tag on some of the newer models. It’s real comfy and helps me sit up straight rather than slouch as I’m used to. Everything is adjustable from the lumbar, seat height, seat depth, arm height, and the angle of the back can be locked into several positions. I suggest if you are in front of your computer 15+ hours a day like me, that you get a chair that is similar. You’ll thank me 20 years down the road when your back doesn’t look like a hunchback.
I also added a 2nd 25.5″ Samsung Monitor to my collection:

The one on the right is the new Samsung SyncMaster T260. The only reason I didn’t get the SyncMaster 2693HM (the same one I’m giving away in my contest) is because they didn’t have it. I wanted to give my old 22″ for my designer to work with, and then have matching monitors. Well, the sizes are the same. The T260 is still a good monitor, and looks extremely sexy. The only problem tho is that you can’t adjust height and it can’t switch to profile view, which the 2693HM can do. You can see both these monitors take up so much space I had to extend my table using a bar stool and books to level it out. Ghetto, yes, and it will be eventually fixed once I can move into a real office with real furniture.
It’s all still a mess, and my room is even trashier, but I see good things coming from this. It should boost productivity and bring in a lot more internet marketing business.

mmmm 51″ of lcd screen real estate. Considerably better than my 30.3″ of screen (17″ + 13.3″).
