I just got this email -
Dear advertiser,
We are writing to let you know that your Google AdWords account has been disabled due to one or more serious violations of our advertising policies related to Landing Page and Site Quality. As a result, your ads will no longer run through the Google AdWords system and we are unable to accept advertising from you in the future. Please note that future accounts you open will also be disabled.
As part of our commitment to making the AdWords experience safe and effective for our users and our advertisers, we routinely review the landing pages that our advertisers promote through our search and content networks. If we find that an advertiser has submitted a landing page that egregiously violates our policies, we reserve the right to take immediate account-level action.
Landing pages advertised via AdWords must have relevant, original content, and must be transparent about the nature of the business being promoted. Further, advertising certain types of sites will lead to immediate account disabling. These types of sites include, but are not limited to:
* Sites that charge users or collect personal information in exchange for a product that is never delivered
* Sites that charge for “free” software
* Sites that trick users into paying for fake or poor-quality content
* Sites that charge users for information that makes unrealistic promises of financial or personal gain
* Sites that install malware software on a visitor’s computer
Please note that this action is related to sites that have recently been advertised through your account. In a review of your account history, we found that your account had submitted a least one site that egregiously violated our advertising policies. Although you may have removed these sites since our latest review, advertisers that have a history of promoting these types of sites are still subject to account-level disabling.
You can review our Advertising Policies, including our Landing Page and Site Quality guidelines, by visiting: http://adwords.google.com/support/aw/bin/static.py?hl=en&page=guidelines.cs

If you have additional questions or concerns not addressed by our policies or help center, you can contact support by replying to this email.
Sincerely,
The Google AdWords team
It’s really funny as I haven’t touched the account for such a long time, and the only time I tried rebills on Google was when green tea was all the rage. I had a small stint with acai berry that quickly ended when I spent $100 in about 5 minutes. The little things like this really can come back to haunt you I guess. It is reminders like this that make me want to focus on quality, and while quality can sometimes be harder to convert, I think in the long run it would be more worth it (as you aren’t having accounts across all platforms shut down!)

I got the same, pretty sure it’s a phish, when has Adwords addressed ‘dear advertiser’ instead of your name. And my account still works! But there’s no dodgy phish links in my emails. So does your adwords let you login?

When I first got this email, it was a huge relief. I could finally forget Google and focus on other advertising platforms.

I got the same email recently… I can still log into my account, I didn’t try to set up a campaign, but I haven’t used the account in quite a while. I also was wary about the whole “Dear Advertiser” bit… Didn’t even want to try clicking on any of the links… I’ll just wait it out and see what happens

I got the same email this morning, I can still login but I’ve heard that you can so I threw up a quick campaign to see if that gets impressions etc.
Also one thing I was questioning is what is account-level disabling?
I too haven’t touched that account in about a month and can’t remember running any diet rebills, I think I tried grants shortly before moving onto other sources for that reason.
Imagine how guttered you would be if you were making your living from that account and then they shut you down over your history.

I also got the same email for my both accounts (one for search and another for content). I replied them back asking for explanation (which I am sure they wont give me). I think it’s time to concentrate on other traffic sources.

I got the same email and i didn’t even use the account much. Just logged in to see, and one of my campaigns was still running (enabled). this wasn’t getting any impressions or traffic though and hasn’t gotten any.

Hello Kinjal,

from you in the future.

and we ask that you do not contact them about this matter. If you need

Makes you wonder how many of these “violating” pages/campaigns turn back up under ‘Googles internal affiliate marketing’ team
No wonder they ban people then claim there making the most profit ever…

Yup, same thing happened to me as well. I wasn’t running any rebills or much of anything either. Anyway, i’m beyond caring anymore.

I also got the email yesterday – but have a question.
I had a prepaid account with a balance of about $250 remaining. Is google planning on refunding this money or what? They made no mention of it to me.

F@#ing A!
The same story here guyes, just got the same email from google Russia – absolutely the same text.
I’ve had my adwords account banned in September after thay accused me of promoting TV on PC offer, which I never did. Only after 2 weeks of hands tweaking with them I asked for account audit and they reactivated it again.
Sad side – I’ve had all my long-term and highly-optimized campaigns that (are) were making me 99% of my profits.
I’ve had that “gut feeling” to quickly spread out into other traffic sources, such as FB, PPV and Yahoo, Bing.
….Anyway, after september’s ban I left only 2 proven campaigns that I run for over 1.5 years. Fair play is over.

I got the ban as well.
Everything looks the same in my account but I’m not getting any impressions. Oh well.
Nick, you have to cancel your account if you want a refund. Check out https://adwords.google.com/support/aw/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=8440

Nick you have a case here. A real one !
search for that “How to Sue Google and Win”
there was a case of Google close an adsense account with 700 USD in it.
He won.
Please please do it and publish it all over.
Just follow his tactic if you can.

I received the same email on december 3. I have not been using my google adwords account in a while. So it does not bother me too much. Good thing I did not put all my eggs in the google basket when it comes to ppc.
I am wondering if only affiliates have received this email. What about merchants who advertise?
I found this thread on google support where there are people who have received the same email and they are looking for answers: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/AdWords/thread?tid=10f6e7de98b00eac&hl=en

Google Sucks
You know I am honestly happy you guys have to go through this crap with Google. It’s been said ever since, diversy, spread out your traffic sources.
People have headaches over them when they are so many other places to advertise without all the quality score bullshit.
Seriously…f**k Google.

Do you feel that these sudden bans on numerous peoples accounts have anything to do with Google trying to comply with the FTC guidelines that have recently been established? I’m sure Google wants to cover their butt as much as possible. Up until now you could pretty much advertise anything you wanted and Google would simply give you a slap on the wrist if they caught you doing something against their TOS. Afterall, they were making money from it too. They are laying the smack down on some people it seems now.

Haven’t got this email yet. Anyway, Google is not the only place to get traffic on the web, so I’m not worried at all.

All my accounts appear to work but just stopped getting impressions. I asked google what’s up and of course no response. Switching to other ad networks. What a bunch of crap.
