Do You Have a Set Schedule?

Posted on October 13th, 2012 By Under Quick Tips

(Don’t worry! More Guide posts are coming, but I still plan doing regular blog posts in-between major updates.)

I’ve been in the affiliate marketing industry about 5 years. I’ve done the “hustling” and I’ve done the “lazy marketer”, but now I’m at a stage in my business where I’ve realized that having a proper schedule works out the best for me. While I use it as a loose guide and nothing is ever too certain when you are running ad campaigns, its been the right thing to keep me looking towards my goals, getting their promptly and it helps me keep my sanity.

Most weekdays, I wake up around 8 AM, do my morning wake-up things, and then start hitting the books. I use that time to examine campaign performance, and send out emails. From 10 – 3PM I work on research, talking with clients, optimizing and scaling current campaigns, and building new campaigns. Once 3 PM hits, that’s as far as I go. Unless something has an extreme deadline and it is unavoidable, I just stop working. I follow this schedule Monday to Friday, loosely work on Saturday to get done what has to be done with no strict schedule, and Sunday I use as me days to spend with friends or have fun and unwind.

Before I kept this schedule, I always had the same tasks to do on a daily basis. Instead of focusing on getting it all done from the get go, I would browse forums simultaneously, chat with friends, watch Youtube, TV, or movies, and play games interspersed throughout the whole day. This is what would lead to several sleepless nights “As I would “hustle fo’ dat money’ all night to get done what I can now do in 6 hours a day.

Having that strict schedule has made me a more responsible businessman and it gives clients and partners a definitive time that they can catch me. I get my tasks done faster, and I have a ton of free-time at the end of the day to do whatever I want. I would suggest everyone go out there and put together a schedule on there own that allows them this same kind of performance.

Great tip justin! I have been so much more productive since i started having a fixed schedule. A workout in the morning really helped me to get going.

Yep you got all that right man. My schedule is still shit every damn day. The few days I have gotten everything done in a timely manner, I was fucking shocked how productive I was. Later JD.–Richard

You're spot-on Justin. Whether working with client projects or my own, I get more (important) things done with a schedule (and prioritized to-do list) in place than without one. And, I have more time for the personal things I like to do as well.
    Best, Don Roberts

I have started putting together a schedule the past couple of weeks and it is amazing how much more I'm able to get accomplished. Before I was constantly checking emails and stats and then finding myself looking at BSO's again. I have to ask myself that what I'm doing right now is it making me money or am I just wasting time I can't get back because I'm being productive. Then I look at a sign I made that says, "Success is a direct of Action." I then proceed to get back to the tasks that need to get done. Great post!

I need software to keep me on schedule. I am so scattered with a million different things I lose track of my tasks so quick.

  6. I need to make a schedule for my days also. I would love to workout in the morning, but I am so much more stronger at night. I am always working on my internet marketing at night. Weekends also. I stopped dating girls for now so I can get stuff done. Girls just don't understand what I need to do to become successfull. They all love a man with much money, but then when you work hard at it, they get pissed off because not enough time is spent staring at them.

If you don't plan to succeed then you will surely fail.

Richard, you got it. That is exactly what you must do…
