We do require a category (like MySpace), but we don't use keyword / category targeting, it's really just a hint. We use performance-based optimizations. In particular, we have a conversion tracking pixel and we're building out system optimization around conversions, where available. One of the problems you may encounter from an arbitrage side is that our system does a lot of dynamic optimization, but it takes a couple of days. Most advertisers find that the campaign returns improve over time, but the system needs time & data to work its magic.

Arbitrage in the social space is its own little beast. We have quite a bit of experience in what works and what doesn't, and we definitely have some successful arbitragers on the network.

Cubics itself is still less than two years old, so we're still growing out both the system and our support thereof. We have lots of ideas for help our advertisers succeed, but feedback helps guide the features that get the most attention.
