I’ve been pretty pissed off that I’ve had to pay a shit load more for clicks on Facebook and Myspace and hardly break even on the platforms. I had to look for other options. I heard SocialMedia was one way to go, but then I heard their traffic sucked ass. It also took them 4 weeks to reply to my application. Thanks guys.
Did some digging and found a lead on another platform that lets me advertise on Facebook, Myspace, Bebo, Hi5 and some other big social networks. That would be Cubics. They took a week to get back to my application (I think they did a site rehaul during that time, so no biggie), and I started digging into what I could do with it.
One thing that is bad about trying to get on Facebook and Myspace is that they are strict about everything. Well, you’ll feel like you are in heaven when you get on Cubics. I think I may have even broken their advertising rules but still had an ad approved and getting a shit load of clicks.
How much will these clicks cost you? Minimum bids for America and Canada started out at 10 cents. HELLLL YEAHHHHH. No more stupid 50 cent clicks just to show your booby ads on Facebook, suckas.
A cool thing about creating an ad on Cubics is that they let you dynamically insert the users name and location in the ad. Justin, Find Hot Biotches in Bangkok Tonight Yo! lol
There are some major gripes about the system though. It looks old and table based, and loaded very slow for me (I’m international and on a slow line, but it couldn’t have been this bad). Demographical targeting is okay, but its very difficult to pinpoint ages (you can target 13 – 17 year olds, but not just 16 year olds). And like most social media traffic, it converts like shit without a nice landing page. Also, you cannot upload your own little images for text based ads. You must use their silly ass animations. Keyword targeting is silly, too, just like Myspace. Also, Cubics supports prepay only, so if you dead ass broke, can’t help you out unless you got cash before hand.
To get myself on Cubics.com advertising, I tried out the $7.50 payout Crush offer on Ads4Dough. Yeah, it converted like shit, at around 1 – 50 to 100 clicks. After spending about 200 dollars on the offer, I broke just about even, with maybe 10% profit. Profit is profit, so I won’t complain. However, it isn’t enough profit, and not worth my time to pursue further so I’m just gonna let you guys take it from me.
Basically, I just directly linked to the campaign. Stupid idea number one. Always set up a redirect so you can change the offers mid-way through the campaign if you find something better. Also, I didn’t set up conversion tracking. Check out tracking with Prosper202. This way, you can see where you are getting your conversions. Maybe conversions from Hi5 are better than Myspace, so you can knock out Myspace from the list of sites you want to advertise on to increase ROI.
You guys are clever. I guarantee you’ll be able to at least break even on a lot of offers with this. Test offers, try different landers and ad copy, TRACK THEM, and keep working until you get a winner. Start making money, yo.

Interesting post, I’ll give Cubics.com another try. I tried them before, but very limited and without using some of the cool features.
I’ve joined Ads4Dough with your referral link and am trying to make some money. You’ll be hearing from me soon (hopefully), for some PPC consulting

Hey Justin;
Thanks for the review. We are definitely in the middle of the change, but you’ll definitely see more improvements to help you out.
We do require a category (like MySpace), but we don’t use keyword / category targeting, it’s really just a hint. We use performance-based optimizations. In particular, we have a conversion tracking pixel and we’re building out system optimization around conversions, where available. One of the problems you may encounter from an arbitrage side is that our system does a lot of dynamic optimization, but it takes a couple of days. Most advertisers find that the campaign returns improve over time, but the system needs time & data to work its magic.
If you or your posters are looking for some support / advice, please contact our toll-free line (1-866-730-2109) and ask for our social network advertising department (Matt B. if you need a name).
Arbitrage in the social space is its own little beast. We have quite a bit of experience in what works and what doesn’t, and we definitely have some successful arbitragers on the network.
Cubics itself is still less than two years old, so we’re still growing out both the system and our support thereof. We have lots of ideas for help our advertisers succeed, but feedback helps guide the features that get the most attention.
