Lately, I’ve been doing a lot of experimenting with Facebook. I’ve been travelling outside of the normal niches and common ads you see on Facebook (boobies), and it has really been paying off. That isn’t to say I’ve lost a bit along the way, as well.

Finding a unique offer is probably one of the hardest things to do for Facebook traffic. FB users don’t like to use credit cards, so you’re probably better if you steer away from CPS (click per sale) based offers unless you truly know what you are doing. Give them free shit, and you’ll make a little more.

A free offer can still be difficult to push though. For instance, I’m pushing an offer that just requires a simple email submit. I’ve been playing around with it for a couple days and am now just starting to break even. I’ve lost a little on the offer so far, but because I’ve put in the time and money to play with it, I am able to know what works and what doesn’t.

Even a “bad” campaign can do well. Most of my campaigns do bad in the beginning because I target such a wide demographic. From there I narrow things down. With more experimentation and further development with images and copy, I can see even more leads being generated.

I’ve lost a boat load of cash on FB, but with the proper presentation and targeting, I can ussually make it all back. Use some common sense when choosing offers to push, and experiment with it until you are absolutely positive you won’t be able to break at least even on the offer. If you do it right, you’ll come out ahead of the pack with a unique offer that no one else is trying.

    Hey Justin,

not sure how much you do PPC marketing with Adwords, but when you say Be prepared to lose, I thought about a post I read yesterday. It said that if you wanna do PPC marketing with search, start with $20,000. Would you say that you agree with that statement?

Well, if you got 20,000 to start out with, you’ll indefinetly find a way to make it all back, and you’ll have plenty of money to work with for coders, designers, etc, if you can’t do that yourself. Thats a shit load of cash though… Unless you are maybe trying out diet pills and shit for your first niche, I doubt you’d need this much to get you started. Steer away from huge niches unless you have a huge budget. I’ll be saving up only a couple grand to put into adwords for a pretty decently sized niche, and I expect with the right targeting, I should be okay off getting profitable with that small amount.
