Ask Away!

Posted on November 6th, 2009 By Under Justin Dupre

I’ve been sitting in the backend of my WordPress thinking about what I was going to post about. Then I realized, nothing is really worth posting if you guys don’t care about it. So, I’m opening up the floor to affiliate marketing questions. Each question will be answered in an individual post. This will allow for many more details to be divulged, as well as give me at least a few more days of content to write for you.

You can ask here or reach me on the contact page.

Also, I’m looking to kick off Deeboo and need some writers to help write, mod the forums, etc. If you’re interested in helping out, don’t have a blog of your own and want one, and want the potential to be part of what I know will become a huge blog for the industry, just let me know.

What other traffic sources are out there that are similar to Facebook Ads? I've been thinking about stepping foot into the search engine PPC realm (MSN Adcenter?), but wasn't sure of how to go about it.

who is your number one network?

  4. chris says:

could you talk about finding good offers that are leads and some good ways to promote them. the one thing i still dont understand really is making money just by having someone submit a zip and how you do it

  5. Karol K. says:

What is your opinion on using Google Content Network, and what would you consider as “good results” (when it comes to CTR and conversion rate)?

Did you have any success with the Content Network?

I've been seeing people post ridiculous CTRs on facebook, with a lot of volume. Is the secret targeting only one or two keywords that have volume? Also, what's the best way to get high CTR while going CPM?

  8. nir says:

are you promoting any rebill offers on facebook? are you doing it with direct linking or landing pages? and finally,if you are,how do you manage to get the ads approved?

    thanks.

You don't find the best way get a high CTR while on CPM… lols… you're gonna lose a ton of $$$… you had better know the best way to get high CTR before you're on CPM; ie, while you're bidding CPC.

  13. You want questions? I've got all you need. I am very new at this and, like you, I am trying to build a business not only with my own affiliate marketing, but by helping businesses who have websites but don't know what to do with them find the traffic they want.

So I will trickle questions to you until you beg for mercy.

    Let's start with shared hosting:

You suggest WiredTree and, from the research I have done they are competitively priced and their customer satisfaction seems second to none (yes, I am a real person with real questions and not a mole for Mr. Dupre.)

What exactly am I getting for my $45-90/mo on the managed VPS account and what do I do with it? Is it better to start with a managed server rather than a VPS or is that something I can correct as needed down the road?

I'm giving away my level of inexperience here, but so be it. I want to learn.

Right now I am using a landing page generator supplied by an Anthony Morrison affiliation. This was an easy(?) way to get started (his answer to what he feels is the biggest hurdle to the newbie marketer – building a website) but it is very limiting, structured, and quirky and the help is hard to come by when you have questions (you can't go to the help section that is on the site – they're not the ones that help with that program????)

So tell me – after I get WiredTree as my server, what would be the next step for a newbie like me who would be starting from scratch.
